Who am I?

Hi, my name is Rebecca, I am 21 years old and have wanted to do birth work since I discovered it in grade 8. My plan was always to be a midwife. I have always had a natural pull to healthcare and when I discovered midwifery I realized, that’s it! That’s who I want to be! As I realized the road to midwifery is a long process, I decided to explore Doula work in the mean time. I applied to Pacific Rim’s Holistic Doula certificate program as it is the most comprehensive course in all of North America. As I went through my training I fell more and more in love with doula work and realized a lot of what I was wanting out of being a midwife was fulfilled by doula work. I get to care for people without the clinical nature, I get to focus on my clients mental and emotional well being while trusting their medical team to take care of their physical health. It also opened the door to so many paths I never considered, like grief and loss care, postpartum care, and holistic remedies.
